One of the most common questions before the first assignment: what happens if something happens to me – or if I accidentally break something?
Through the organisation
Large organisations that work with many volunteers usually cover them with accident insurance and liability insurance.
Statutory accident insurance
If you help with certain relief organisations, such as the Red Cross or a volunteer fire brigade, you are covered by the statutory accident insurance.
Federal states and municipalities
The federal states also have their own solutions for volunteers, and some municipalities offer insurance as well.
